I managed to convince the team about the importance of keeping the BCP in sync and shared the risks of not doing so. They’ve agreed to maintain the sync.
However, they had concerns about keeping the BCP intact, as they suspected that the primary database crash happened around the same time the DBA was working on building the BCP. While this is unlikely to be related, they were drawing a connection between the two events.
