 Subject: Concern Regarding BCP Databases Displayed as “Backup Not Configured” in BAT

Hi [Team / BAT Developers],

I hope you’re doing well.

We have noticed that in the Backup Affirmation Tool (BAT), some BCP databases are being displayed as “Backup not configured” and marked as non-compliant.

Since backups for these databases are performed only from one primary site, this status is misleading. Additionally, when application owners click Affirm on these entries, it automatically triggers a ticket, which we then have to cancel, as these relate to BCP sites.

Could you please help review this data and update the logic so that BCP databases are handled correctly in the tool?

 Checked the issue and found the node’s filesystem is full. Backups are running fine, so it’s not related to backup activity. The main reason seems to be high WAL generation, possibly due to heavy DML or data load activity.

Please review the filesystem usage as part of morning checks to catch such issues early.

If large data loads are being done, consider using unlogged tables for non-critical data so that WALs don’t pile up.

Also, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on space usage and perform periodic VACUUM/REINDEX to control bloat.

🌊 Kayaking for a Cause! 🚣‍♂️

Today I joined a volunteering event for a reservoir cleanup, and it was such a refreshing and eye-opening experience. Paddling through the calm water on a kayak made me realize how much beauty our natural resources hold — and how much they need our care.

We collected plastic bottles, wrappers, and other waste that shouldn’t have been there in the first place. It was a small effort, but every little action counts when it comes to preserving clean water. 💧
