I wanted to provide an update on the status of the database patching tasks assigned to me. Out of the allocated databases, I successfully patched 59 databases.
However, there were some issues encountered during the patching process:
Data Guard Out of Sync:
Many instances of Data Guard remained out of sync due to the script not copying the DG Broker configuration file. Here is an example of the issue encountered: [provide a brief log excerpt or example].Blackout Creation Failed:
I encountered a permissions issue where I couldn’t create blackout due to additional privileges required, which I discovered in [this article/link]. The blackout, which should have been automatically triggered by the patching script, did not happen. Moreover, there was no reference to this requirement in the patching documentation.Oracle Home Not Updated in OEM:
Updating the Oracle Home in OEM could not be completed. This is crucial for successful TPAI execution and user database access. Assistance from the OEM admins is required to update Oracle Home for the following databases in OEM.Regarding Oracle Home Update: a. According to the patching document, OEM admins are responsible for updating Oracle Home.
b. Thereconcile_homeprocedure is not available under the SYSDBA and Provision roles. Despite having the required access, I was unable to locate this procedure.
c. The role definition document does not seem to be up to date and lacks any information on thereconcile_homeprocedure.
Please reach out to the OEM admins to assist with updating Oracle Home for the listed databases.
Let me know if you need further details or assistance from my side.
